Fluttershy smiled when Paradox decided to join her while she went shopping for new yarn. “Dox, why the sudden interest in what I do?”

“Mom, can’t I hang out with you without being interrogated?” He asked as he put his paws behind his back as he walked around the yarn store. Silver stood near the entrance of the store being unemotional and stoic.

“I wasn’t interrogating you.” Fluttershy said as she looked at some green yarn.

Paradox smiled at his mother as he walked back to the front of the store, he looked at Silver and noticed that she was looking straight ahead with no emotion. He glanced around, noticing no one was watching he leaned down and kissed her lips softly.

Silver looked at him as he kissed her and her wings popped up suddenly. “Dox… stop… please.” she whispered to him. “I don’t want to get into trouble.”

“Okay,” he said as he walked away casually as he rubbed his chin where his goatee was growing. He had a grin on his face after he licked his lips.

Fluttershy walked around the corner holding several skeins of yarn. “Dox please hold these?”

He took them from her. “So, mom what would you say if I… um… found my mate?”
Fluttershy looked up from her browsing. “Oh Doxy, when have you had the time to find a mate?” She asked. “If you did though, I am sure she’d be a very lucky girl. You are like your father in so many ways.”

Paradox was blushing. “I did find a mate.”

Fluttershy looked at him. “Oh? When can I meet her?”

Silver’s ear twitched as she tried to listen in, she heard Paradox say, “Soon, I want to talk to her again and see what she would like to do.”

“Okay Doxy.” Fluttershy smiled. “When I was younger I never thought I’d ever be a proud mother of three beautiful intelligent children.”

“Mom…” Paradox muttered as he blushed.

Fluttershy bought the yarn and they started to walk out of the shop. “Come on, we have a lunch date with one of my friends.” Fluttershy said cheerfully. Silver nodded curtly as she followed them looking warily around. Paradox was impressed by how seriously his mate took her job.

“Who are we having lunch with mom?” Paradox asked as he walked beside his mother, he kept looking at Silver, but she was looking at any potential threat to Fluttershy.

“Rainbow Dash.” Fluttershy said. Paradox stopped in mid stride. Silver walked past him and smirked as she brushed his paw with one of her wings.

“I… um…” his mind raced. Then he took in a deep breath. “That is great.” he caught up to them. “I haven’t seen Rainbow Dash in forever and a day.” He continued hoping he didn’t sound nervous.

“Are you sure it’s okay Lady Fluttershy if I join you, mother and Paradox for lunch?” Silver asked.

Fluttershy looked at Silver Dash. “I insist. It would be odd to have you stand while your mother sits and eats.”

They arrived at the restaurant and were seated outside. Paradox sat across from Silver and Fluttershy sat down and looked up to wait for Rainbow Dash to arrive.

Silver had taken her helmet off and she looked at Paradox as he fidgeted in his seat nervously. She noticed him glance at her then over at his mother. Slowly he looked at his mother opened his mouth to tell her when Rainbow Dash landed next to him. “Hey, sorry I’m late.” She smiled as she walked over to her seat and sat down. She saw her daughter. “Hey Silver! What is new? My little girl so grown up.” She said proudly as she ruffled Silver’s mane with her hoof.

“Mom, geez, I’m an adult.” Silver smoothed her mane again. “And I have a mate now.” She blurted out.

Rainbow Dash looked at her daughter. “What?”

Paradox’s jaw fell and he started to shake his head vigorously at Silver.“Oh, congratulations.” Fluttershy said cheerfully. “That is wonderful news. Paradox told me that he has a mate too.”

Rainbow Dash slowly turned and looked suspiciously at Paradox. “Oh… that is nice to know Fluttershy. Silver, who is your mate?” She asked while staring at Paradox.

Paradox was sweating under Rainbow Dash’s glare but he tried to act casual as he found the flower on the table was suddenly very interesting.

“Mom, really I rather you look at me while asking questions.” Silver stated as she folded her arms.

Rainbow Dash chuckled and nodded as she looked away from Paradox. “Yes, I’m sorry, so who is this mystery stallion?”

Silver grinned as she looked at Paradox and saw his eyes widen in a panic. “He’s right across from me.”

Both Fluttershy and Rainbow looked at Paradox at the same time. He blushed then put his head on the table with a loud thump. “I’m dead.”

Rainbow Dash started to laugh. “That is hilarious Silver. Come on tell me who it is?”

“It’s Paradox.” Silver said blushing at her mother.

“Doxy? Is Silver your mate?” Fluttershy asked him placing her hoof on his mane and petting him.

Paradox nodded as he kept his face hidden. “Yes, I love Silver… She is my heart.” He muttered into the table.

“Oh thank Celestia!” Rainbow Dash said in relief. “And here I thought she’d found some bone headed loser.”

“What?!” Paradox said as he sat up right away looking at Rainbow Dash in confusion.

Rainbow smiled at him. “Dox, you are perfect for Silver! Awesome! That means I am so going to get grandkids!”

“MOTHER!” Silver said as she blushed deeply and covered her face with her hooves.

Fluttershy sighed happily at her son. “Your father will be so happy to know this Dox.”
