Silver sat up quickly. “Doxy!”

The room was dark. She was in the soft bed of the house by the ocean. The sound of the surf was heard as she looked around in the darkness. “You should be sleeping.” He whispered.

She looked over and saw Paradox, he was sitting in a soft chair. “What happened?”

“We were attacked by two winged serpents.” He said softly. “One broke my wing while the other bit you. I thought she killed you, but she told me that you were perfectly safe.” He got up and went over to her. “I thought I lost you, my love.” He whispered as he placed his paw on her cheek.

“I got bit?” She placed her hoof on her neck where it was hurting, there was a bandage. “Why did they attack us?”

He just looked at her as tears formed in his eyes. “I’ll tell you later. You just need to rest. The venom isn’t out of your system yet.”

She swallowed hard. “Doxy… why won’t you tell me?”

“Just sleep.” He whispered as he sat back down. “I’ll tell you when you feel better.”
